A series of objects, time and rust- damaged tin cans with a motif of Čičmany’s folk embroidery surprises with its fragility.

A can as a symbol.

An empty container ?

A form of preservation ?

An unnecesary waste ?

Fragility and evanescence, values which I tried to point to in my work the most, are also incorporated in a chosen technological process. As it is in forests, waste tins, after the effects of acid rains and overall humidity, start to break, small “laces” holes start to emerge on them.

All these elements are in some contrast with each other which should invocate flow of thoughts full of contradictions: strength and fragilty, utility and needlessness, uniqueness and banality. A simple consumption article matched with a folk expression of beauty became my way to say “panta rhei”..
